Hello G Suite Administrator,

On 11 October 2017, we notified you of the rollout of version 2.0 of the G Suite Data Processing Amendment ("DPA 2.0"). That update included changes in anticipation of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") coming into force on 25 May 2018.

Since it is highly likely that the GDPR will apply to any use of G Suite for business purposes, we'd like to remind you of two important actions for your G Suite account at to facilitate compliance. We suggest completing these activities as soon as possible:
1. Review / accept updated data processing terms

If the GDPR applies to Google's processing of your data (e.g. if you are established in the European Union, or established outside the European Union but offer goods/services to data subjects who are in the European Union), it requires your contract with Google to contain certain data processing terms. Unless you accept the DPA 2.0, your contract could lack those terms. We therefore recommend that you accept the DPA 2.0 on behalf of your organisation or seek legal advice, and remind you that very high fines can be imposed for breach of the GDPR.

To ensure your contract contains the DPA 2.0 terms when the GDPR comes into force, please accept the DPA 2.0 now by following the steps below:

Sign in to the Google Admin console.
Click Nav icon.
Select Account and click Company Profile.
Select Profile.
Scroll to the Security and Privacy Additional Terms section (next to Data Processing Amendment), ensure that you or an appropriate person within your organisation reviews the DPA 2.0, and click Review and Accept.
Click I Accept.

2. Enter contact details for your DPO

If the GDPR requires your organisation to appoint a data protection officer ("DPO"), the GDPR requires Google to keep a record of their contact details. These details must be entered in your Admin console, where applicable. If you are unsure whether your organisation needs to appoint a DPO, you should seek legal advice.

To enter DPO contact details, please follow the steps below:

Sign in to the Google Admin console.
Click Nav icon.
Select Account and click Company Profile.
Click Show More and select Legal & Compliance.
Under Your data protection officer details, enter contact information as required.
Click Save.

Additional information on Google Cloud and the GDPR is available on our Cloud GDPR website. If you have further questions, please sign in to the Admin console to contact Google's Cloud Data Protection Team.

Sincerely,

The G Suite Team
